World Baseball Classic and Pedro

The US is up on the Venezuelans 10-3 in the 6th inning. Youkilis just homered.

I've been watching this because it's baseball, but I'd rather it be MLB.

Apparently, some people are all aflutter because Pedro faced in the minimum number of batters in his three inning outing against the Netherlands. It's the NETHERLANDS! Does anyone think that means anything? I am a Pedro fanatic, but his career is over. It was over after 2004. The Red Sox were smart not to offer a four year deal. He's a first ballot HOFamer and the most dominating pitcher of his generation. Going to Fenway during the 1999 and 2000 seasons when Pedro was pitching was like having an audience with the Pope. He was simply the best in the world. He is a shell of himself now and should retire and accept all the accolades that he deserves.

UPDATE: It's a blowout for Team USA. They are 2-0 in the WBC, and will play the loser of Canada vs. Italy which will be a meaningless game. Second round here we come...
